And hey, no e-files will ever be used on your natural nails. We opt for a safer approach with LED-cured gels. It's worth mentioning that we're not following the acrylic and dip powder trend.

We engage in conversations and pose questions to ensure that your nail service aligns with your expectations and lifestyle. Additionally, it is crucial that your nails complement your natural nail shape, distinctive nail beds, and individual nail plate. Since each set of nails is unique, it will dictate the potential length they can reach and the duration between services.

    First, we manicure. Then we infill using soft gel. Then we polish.

How to book our nail services….

  • Book your overlay or extension service based on the length of your nails or the length of the extensions you want.

    Do not book nail service based on the time that we have available on our schedule.

    If enough time is not available we will likely not be able to complete the service.

  • Longer nails take more time to build and shape because they require more product and skill.

    Booking nail services is very difficult based on several factors and makes staying on schedule even more difficult.

    Not only do want to respect your time but the time of our technicians and other guests.

  • Please do not book nail service based on the availability/time that we have and only book the service you want/need.

    If you do not choose the correct length it is very possible we will not have enough time to accommodate your service.

    Our nail technician is consistently booked with back to back services and needs to stay on schedule.

  • We will only remove gel polish from outside nail salons.

    We do not remove dip, acrylics, or any other type of nails.

    Here is why… Acrylic and dip are very damaging to your natural nails and contain harsh chemicals. Removing acrylic nails often takes a significant amount of time to remove- which will not be accounted for during appointments.

  • We do not do foreign fills.

    Here is why…. We do not know what products other nail salons use and there is a good chance our products are not compatible.

    This can not only cause damage to your nails but they might break, chip or pop off.

  • We cannot fill nails that have 4+ weeks of regrowth. Your nails will need to be removed and reapplied. So please schedule accordingly.

    As your overlay and extensions grow out they lift on the sidewall (sides of nails). Not only will our technicians have to manually remove a lot of the overlay/extension (more time/product) but it allows moisture under the product. When moisture is trapped in between the gel and your natural nail it is a dangerous breeding ground for bacteria and can cause a nasty infection. Something you don’t want and we don’t want to be responsible and liable for.

  • Short nails do not extend significantly past the fingertip.

    They are often described as neat, trimmed, close-cut or even blunt.

  • Medium length nails extend moderately beyond the fingertip.

    They are often described as a comfortable balance between very short, minimalist nails and extremely long, high-maintenance nails.

  • Long nails are generally longer than average. 

    They are often described as extending significantly beyond the fingertip.

  • Stone Fox is an acrylic free nail salon, this includes removing acrylic and dip nails from another salon.

    Here is why:

    • The smell.

    • The fumes and airborne particles are harmful and are a common cause of asthma amongst nail technicians.

    • Most likely to cause damage, allergic reaction, skin irritation, and worn-down nail syndrome.

    • Least natural looking.

    We find gel products superior. Below is why:

    • They are more flexible and less brittle.

    • Less damaging to the natural nails.

    • Look more natural.

    • Less likely to yellow.

    • Easier and safer to remove.

    • Gel nails are referred to as many, many things but “gel” generally means; gel polish, overlay, soft and hard gel.

    • The overlay, soft and hard gel can be polished with regular or gel polish.

    • A gel overlay is applied over the entire natural nail to help strengthen and protect it.

    • An overlay can be filled in.

    • Filling an overlay is better for your natural nail then continuously soaking off/removing gel polish or dip.

    • They are similar to press on nails.

    • These full coverage nails are made of gel (not plastic) and are applied using gel and are cured under a UV lamp.

    • They come pre-shaped, already buffed and offered in many length and shape combos.

    • They can be filled in.

    • An easy, quick option for a full set of perfect nails.

  • Your cuticles will never look better!

    • Detailed cuticle work is what sets apart from other nail salons!

    • We use a cuticle remover, push back, buff, nip and e-file.

    • We guarantee our nail services for 5 days.

    • Kids services are for kids under 13.

    • We are not crazy about giving children under 6 nail services. We are willing to make exceptions for attentive and helpful parents with cool kids that can chill.

    • Kids Manicure- A nail soak followed by trimming, shaping, buffing, and a gentle cuticle pushback. We wrap it up with a light pressure and and lower arm massage.

    • Kids Pedicure: A foot soak followed by trimming, shaping, buffing, and a gentle cuticle pushback

    • Our technicians never reuse disposable implements. In fact, we give them to you to take home!

    • Disposable tools are porous and cannot be properly cleaned and disinfected. Reusing them is negligent and dangerous. After each client all reusable, non porous implements are properly cleaned and disinfected. We are always compliant with VA state guidelines and laws that are upheld by the DPOR.

      *Disposables includes; nail files, buffers, pedicure slippers, (e-file/nail drill) sanding bands, toe rope/separators, orange sticks, etc.

    • Reusable implements include; e-file bits, stainless steel tools, (some) nail files, etc.

    • We cannot not remove ingrown toenails, this is beyond our scope of practice.

    • Our goal is to use products purchased from US and Canadian based artisan suppliers who produce in small batches.

    • Small batches have many benefits including: eco-friendly, better overall product quality, strong alliances with vendors, fewer allergic reactions, and more.

    • Our Canadian based partners adhere to strict guidelines and laws regarding chemicals and contaminants in beauty products.

    • We make efforts to avoid harsh chemicals and toxins in our products.

      *But don't worry, we have OPI.

    • We can apply sunscreen to your hands.
