Massage, Bodywork + Energetics
“Take care of your body; it’s the only place you have to live.” — Jim Rohn
Our Unique Approach
Women Focused Care
Our space was intentionally designed as a retreat for women, by women- designed to feel protective, calming, supportive and quietly luxurious. Every detail reflects our commitment to quality, care, and trust. Our signature rituals are designed to meet you where you are.
Honoring Bodies + Nervous Systems
Our work is rooted in respect for the body’s innate wisdom and the nervous system’s need for safety. Sessions unfold slowly and intentionally, guided by presence rather than urgency. Nothing here is rushed or transactional- this is care designed to be felt.
Safety, Trust, + Consent
You are always in control of your session. Touch is consent-forward and guided entirely by your comfort, preferences, and boundaries. We check in before working on sensitive areas such as the glutes, abdomen, or inner thigh borders, and adjustments are welcomed at any time. Your session is guided by your needs, so you can feel safe enough to truly let go.
Trauma-informed + Communication-led
Our therapists are trained in trauma-informed care and prioritize clear, compassionate communication. Each session begins with a thoughtful conversation about pressure, comfort, and preferences, creating predictability and ease from the start.
Customized, Never Rushed
Every session is fully customized and may incorporate a blend of techniques and supportive approaches, chosen with intention. Our therapists work with unhurried pacing and steady presence, creating space for nervous system regulation, emotional ease, and true rest.
Body Positivity + Inclusion
Every body is welcomed and honored as it is. Our work is grounded in dignity, respect, and care- free from judgment or comparison.
Fascial Counterstrain
Supporting whole-body healing, not just symptom relief
Fascial Counterstrain (FCS) is a gentle, hands-on therapy that releases protective spasms in the body’s tissues caused by injury or stress. Muscles, nerves, organs, and connective tissues can remain reflexively tight long after an injury or due to conditions, leading to pain and tender points.
By holding gentle pressure to the tender points it will shorten and unload the strained tissue, signaling safety to the nervous system, allowing the tissue to relax and reset- without force or discomfort. Many people feel immediate and measurable relief, making FCS particularly effective for acute or chronic pain, as well as for those with sensitive or complex conditions.
Fascial Counterstrain is an not a standard massage technique; it's a complex manual therapy. It requires specialized training and practitioners must attend specific courses to become FCS certified. Our certified practitioner, Yeda, has completed hundreds of hours of training at the Counterstrain Academy in Fredrick, MD.

Because Counterstrain works with the nervous system rather than forcing change, it is often highly effective for people who have not responded well to other therapies and those seeking lasting, whole-body relief.
FCS is a great option for people who have tried other modalities to no avail. And for those who feel sensitive to deep pressure, stretching, or aggressive techniques.
Acute Injuries + Trauma: Sprains, strains, concussions, whiplash, or post-surgery.
Chronic Pain: Fibromyalgia, tension headaches, myofascial pain, or long-standing muscle tightness. And those dealing with neck, back, shoulder, nerve or joint pain.
Fragile Clients: Infants (torticollis), elderly (osteoporosis), or those with hypermobility.
Specific Conditions: Arthritis, plantar fasciitis, TMJ, sciatica, and digestive issues.
Overuse + Strain: Athletes, manual laborers, anyone with repetitive stress injuries, or postural strain.
-
Pain Relief: Reduces back, neck, headache, sciatica, and fibromyalgia pain.
Improved Mobility + Flexibility: Restores range of motion by releasing tight tissues.
Reduces Muscle Tension: Eases chronic tightness and guarding.
Gentle + Non-Invasive: Safe for sensitive individuals, acute injuries, and post-surgical recovery.
Holistic Healing: Addresses fascia affecting muscles, nerves, ligaments, and organs.
Enhanced Circulation: Improves nutrient flow and waste removal in tissues.
Better Posture + Alignment: Releases underlying restrictions that affect posture.
Supports Other Therapies: Enhances the effectiveness of massage, exercise, stretching, and rehabilitation.
-
Your therapist will begin with a detailed assessment, which may include mobility, strength, neurological, and spinal tests, as well as palpation for tender points.
Counterstrain sessions are performed with you lying comfortably on your back in a supine position.
You remain fully clothed throughout the session, so please wear loose, comfortable clothing that does not restrict movement and avoid thick, rigid clothing like jeans.
No oils, lotions, or creams are used, making this a gentle, non-invasive therapeutic experience.
Many people describe it as feeling like your body is taking a deep, relieving sigh when tender points release. It’s completely normal to experience strong emotions during this process- crying is a healthy part of release and should never be held back.
Throughout your session, you’ll work closely with your therapist to identify areas of pain or tension. Your feedback is important- letting them know if a tender point is easing or if a position feels better or worse.

-
Counterstrain was developed in the 1950s by osteopathic physician Dr. Lawrence Jones, who discovered that placing the body in gentle, comfortable positions could naturally reduce pain.
Over time, this work evolved through dedicated practitioners and was later expanded by Brian Tuckey into Fascial Counterstrain (FCS)- a whole-body approach that addresses the nervous system, fascia, and all tissue types.
-
Most individual treatment results are lasting. However, many conditions involve dozens or even hundreds of underlying dysfunctions, so multiple sessions are often needed to achieve maximum and lasting benefit.
Most patients notice significant relief within 1–4 sessions.
-
Immediate Aftercare (1st Few Hours)
Gentle Movement: Take a short, easy walk to help your body integrate the changes.
Hydration: Drink plenty of water (aim for half your body weight in ounces) to flush metabolic waste, and avoid caffeine and sugary drinks.
Next 1-2 Days
Rest: Avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, running, and quick, forceful movements.
Slow + Deliberate: Move slowly and consciously to prevent re-irritating tissues.
Gentle Stretching: Light, gentle stretching can help maintain muscle looseness and circulation.
Avoid Other Treatments: If possible, skip chiropractic adjustments or deep tissue massage for 3-4 days.

Sports Massage
A sports massage uses targeted techniques, deep pressure with soothing strokes, and stretching that gets the blood flowing to relieve tight painful muscles, improve mobility, and support performance and recovery.
-
Assessment: Expect posture, range of motion, and movement checks to find problem areas.
Focus: Your therapist will target specific, tight areas (like hamstrings, calves, shoulders, hips) rather than a full-body relaxation.
Soreness: Some soreness is normal for a day or two, especially after deep work.

Deep Tissue Massage
A deep tissue massage uses slow, intense and targeted pressure to release chronic tension in deeper muscle layers, helping relieve pain, tightness, imbalance, and knots with lasting relief.
-
A deep tissue massage focuses on releasing chronic tension by working into the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. The session usually starts with lighter warm-up strokes before moving into slower, more targeted pressure using hands, forearms, or elbows.
Expect focused work on trouble spots, knots, and areas of stiffness rather than a full-body flow.
Afterward, you may feel looser and more mobile, sometimes with mild soreness similar to a workout, which typically fades within a day.

Consistency is Key: While a single massage offers short-term relief, regular sessions provide cumulative benefits, helping your body learn to stay in a relaxed, balanced state for longer periods.
Listen to Your Body: The most accurate indicator is how long the benefits last and how quickly tension or symptoms return. If you notice stiffness, poor sleep, or irritability creeping back in, it is likely time for another session.
Lifestyle Demands: Individuals with physically demanding jobs or high-stress lifestyles generally require more frequent massages than those with a more sedentary lifestyle and lower stress.
Budget + Time: Integrate massage into your routine in a way that is sustainable for your schedule and finances; consistency is more important than a rigid, unaffordable schedule.
